Toshiba is introducing the ultimate combination device (until now) into the Japanese Market.

The RD-17V1 manages to squeeze a DVD-R/RW and HDD recorder into a 17 inch LCD TV - and we do mean cram, as although 17 inches is hardly big by today's standards, Toshiba has squeezed in 1280 x 768 pixels so it's more than good enoough for HDTV.

The unit will retail for about $1500, but sadly only in Japan.
