Philips has unveiled the DVDR7200, a £400 system due for release in May, featuring an integrated Freeview tuner.

Despite being a logical step in the UK, Freeview (terrestrial digital) tuners are not commonly found in DVD/HDD recorders, so this move is welcome from a top manufacturer.

The DVDR7200 features dual layer DVD+R/RW recording with 5.1 audio recording capability and the full-colour ‘Guideplus + Interactive’ programme guide, which enables on screen recordings up to seven days in advance.

Connections include HDMI and two RGB Scart sockets.
