September 1st 2005 Sony Releases Its First VHS/DVD Recorder Combo
In addition to DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, and DVD+RW , the RDR-VX410 can record and playback +R Double Layer (DL) discs. With a capacity of 8.5GB , +R Double Layer discs can store over 14 hours of recordings at maximum. In addition to wide format compatibility, the beauty of the RDR-VX410 is that it permits DVD/VHS dubbing, for quick and simple transfer of personal content from one to the other. And like all other Sony Recording products, the VX410 incorporates Sony trademark “IQ” recording features. The “Intelligent” recording system includes features such as a smart Graphical User Interface which takes the user step-by-step through the recorder’s programming functions and allows easy navigation of recorded contents for playback. ShowView (VideoPlus+) and VPS/PDC features ensure easy programmable recording from TV broadcast. The “Quality” expected of Sony recording products is assured with Variable Bit Rate recording and Time Base Corrector which dynamically monitors and treats images to the necessary level during the encoding process to ensure a smoother and better quality picture in playback, with minimal imperfections. Progressive Video Output also serves to produce a smoother, sharper, and more fluid picture, whether viewed on a TV screen or through a Video-Projector. The characteristic ‘flicker’ associated with interlaced scanning is noticeably reduced with progressive scanning, allowing for greater enjoyment from your DVD movies. This stylish unit is compact and space saving and will make an attractive addition to any entertainment system. The RDR-VX410 will be available in Europe in October 2005.
