Samsung is making a push in the DVD recorder market with the introduction of four new models, the DVD-R120, DVD-VR320, DVD-VR325, and DVD-TR520.

The lineup offers DVD recording solutions for everyone, including a Dual Deck DVD Recorder/High Speed duplicator, a DVD/VCR recorder which incorporates up-conversion, a single deck DVD recorder and a dual-deck DVD recorder.

"Samsung is fast establishing itself as a leader in DVD recorders and our new line reaffirms this with the most varied and extensive suite of DVD recorder solutions on the market today," says Claude Frank, Samsung Electronics America's Director for Digital Audio/Video. "We offer multiple formats, such as DVD-RAM/-R and -RW in our DVD Recorders for expanded usability. We expect these devices to accelerate Samsung's growth in this field." DVD/VHS Recording Samsung's DVD-VR325 is a VHS-DVD multi-recording device that lets consumers record between VHS tapes and DVD discs. With both formats supported in the same machine, consumers can convert treasured VHS tapes to DVDs at the touch of a button, with no special wiring required. Users also can record directly from television to either format. But the DVD-VR325 isn't just a recording powerhouse it's also a top-flight DVD and VHS player in its own right. The player offers High- Definition conversion from both DVD and VHS via one single hookup; HDMI. Again Samsung has incorporated its Hi-Def conversion feature into this recorder, offering consumers 480p/720p and 1080i output. The device's sleek and clean front panel design ensures it will look at home in all home theater settings. The DVD-VR320 provides the same multi-format playback and recording features with a smooth, 480P progressive scan image that helps eliminates blur and distortion. Both DVD Recorders have an automatic chapter creator and front DV-inputs for true digital transfer from a digital camcorder. Dual-Deck DVD Recording Samsung's DVD-TR520 is an easy to use and extremely user friendly new dual-DVD recorder for consumers who want a way to easily share recorded memories with friends or family. With two DVD trays, the DVD-TR520 allows users to copy home video content directly from disc to disc. The multi-format DVD-TR520 allows users to copy directly from disc to disc at speeds of 2x for -RAM to RAM, 4x for -RW to -RW and up to 6X for -R to -R. With 6x high speed copy, two hours of content can be copied in as little as 20 minutes, while the digital-to-digital interface provides superb, high-picture quality every time. A simple, uncomplicated design lets copies be made literally at the push of a button. This twin-tray recorder is also a top-flight multi-DVD player, allowing discs to be played back from either tray. Single-Deck DVD Recording Samsung's DVD-R120 is the perfect DVD recorder solution for consumers' everyday recording needs. The DVD-R120 records in DVD-RAM, -RW, and -R formats, with an Auto Chapter Creator function for added convenience. A wide variety of video playback formats including DVD-RAM, -RW, -R, DVD-Video and playback of audio files on CD-R/RW discs give users the assurance that their favorite music and video entertainment will be playable. The DVD-R120 also boasts a front DV-input, and Samsung's elegant ultra-slim design. Many DVD recorders don't play well with strangers - discs burned in a recorder that supports one format are unplayable in a unit that supports a different format. Samsung avoids this problem with a multi-format technology that allows these new models to be flexible in the face of competing recording formats. DVD-R the most flexible recording format available to DVDs has several distinct advantages. It also allows for a mixed storage of video, audio and other types of data from both the PC and AV worlds Samsung supports both DVD-RW and DVD-R. The DVD-VR325 is currently available at a MAP of $399.99. The DVD-VR320 is currently available at MAP $299.99. The DVD-TR520 is currently available for at MAP $449.99. The DVD-R120 is currently available at MAP $179.99.
