Toshiba has released two new PVRs, the RD-85DT and D-R160.

The RD-85DT has an integrated digital tuner plus a 160GB hard disc drive, allowing up to 284 hours of recording, which can be direct from the digital tuner. Programming is simple and the recorder includes a full 8 day EPG with view/record, digital text, favourite channel list and parental lock functions. Additional features include PAL Progressive scan, component video output, Timeslip recording and a 32 event / 2 month timer.

The D-R160 supports DVD-R and -RW recording formats and is equipped with Timeslip recording, PAL Progressive scan and component video output. It is JPEG and MP3 compatible for maximum user choice and features an 8 event / 1-month timer.
