It's been a bad week for Pioneer. No sooner was it revealed that the company was abandoning its loss-making DVD recorder operation to focus on Blu-Ray, than a delay was announced to the first wave of next generation optical disc players.
The launch, which was to have been next month, has been pushed back to an unstated date later in the year because of 'development problems'.
Pioneer's delay will now leave Samsung's soon-to-launch BD-P1000 as the only Blu-Ray player on the market throughout the summer months.
At this rate, we'll be seeing Blu-Ray recorders some time at the end of the decade....
