LiteOn has rolled out its DD-A500GX model with HDMI connector and 1080i upscaler.

The DD-A500GX recorder uses the new Double Layer DVD storage DVD discs (DVD+R DL), providing up to 8.5GB of storage, or up to 4 hours of standard quality video content, on a single disc.

"LiteOn’s new HDMI DVD Recorder provides consumers with very high quality digital video and audio carried over a single cable connected directly from the DVD recorder to an HDMI-compatible TV," said Christine Hsing, Marketing Manager at LiteOn. "The result is an extremely sharp video image when combined the 1080i upscaler. With several additional features such as Double Layer disc capacity, dual-format disc compatibility, MPEG-4 video and MP3/WMA audio playback functionality, and VCR+ Plus programming, the DD-A500GX recorder will meet the needs of today’s most demanding audio/videophiles."
