Toshiba has announced two new recorder models, the DV-R17DT DVD recorder and RD-97DT HDD/DVD recorder.

Digital TV tuners are included in both, but they also have analogue tuners in case you are stuck in a dodgy Freeview area. Additional features include PAL Progressive scan, component video output and Timeslip recording.

The RD-97DT has a massive 250GB hard drive which can comfortably store over 40 hours of television.

Both devices come equipped with an HDMI output for upscaling DVD images to 720p, 1080i and 1080p.

Prices and dates are, as yet, not released.
