Sales of HD-DVD players in the USA have passed 100,000 units, one year after the high definition format went on sale.
However, this pails into insignificance compared to sales of DVD players and recorders which topped 22 million in the same period.
There will probably be a slight redressing of this balance in 2007 with the cost of HD-DVD players dropping because of improvements in manufacturing efficiency (so say Toshiba).
