Liteon is offering its cheapest DVD recorder in Taiwan for only US$61.

The LVW-1101 is very much a budget model, but at less than $100 it's a steal.

Meanwhile DigiTimes reports that Philips has cut the price of the DVDR3455H HDD recorder to less than US$300, a 23% price cut.

This could spark a price cut war, but with major players dropping out of the DVD recorder market altogether as a result of previous price cuts, many will be reluctant to jump on the bandwagon.
