August 28th 2003 Philips adds flash-media access to DVDR77
This Philips Imaging product allows consumers to view, share and even record digital photos at high quality on the large screens of their TV sets, eliminating the need to use a PC. The integrated Media Slot (PCMCIA) accepts almost all memory card types, giving consumers almost unlimited compatibility. The Media Slot is the fastest, easiest way to transfer photos for high?quality viewing, convenient sharing and safe storage on DVD discs. Digital Photo Recorder (DVDR77) with sophisticated digital imaging functions Top-of-the-line model is the new DVD recorder DVDR77 that has outstanding digital video recording and playback functions, with superb picture and sound reproduction. In addition, it offers sophisticated imaging functions that let consumers do much more with their digital photos, as well as record the images on a DVD disc. Easy-to-use digital image-transfer features allow consumers to record all their favorite moments from digital photos or camcorder recordings in durable, high-quality form on DVD discs. Thanks to the compatibility of the DVD+RW system, images, video and photos recorded on the DVDR77 can be read on almost any DVD player. A DVD+RW disc can contain a combination of video and still pictures, so consumers have all the freedom they could wish for in viewing and sharing both their video recordings and digital photo albums. The DVDR77 also has a standard i.LINK interface for high-quality digital camcorder connection, allowing video to be transferred directly onto DVD discs. Next to its advanced imaging functions the Philips DVDR77 has all the other features of a high-end Philips DVD Recorder. The DVDR77 allows a full 8 hours of recording time on a single DVD. DVDR77 enables consumers to edit and record their photos onscreen with the Digital Photo Manager enhancing their photo viewing enjoyment. Advanced imaging and editing functions include Rotate, Flip and Zoom, color adjustment using the RGB Tint Control, and users can apply a range of filters to create special effects such as ‘negative’, ‘black and white’, ‘color negative’, ‘soften’ and more. All photo-editing functions are easily selectable via the Digital Photo Manager function using the remote control. Once photos have been edited they can be stored by writing them back onto a memory card, so that they can be retrieved and viewed again later. It’s even possible to create slide shows of favorite photos, with freely selectable photo sequence and timing control, making it even easier for consumers to sit back and enjoy the precious moments captured in their digital images together with family and friends. The DVDR77 DVD Recorder will be available in most markets in Europe from October 2003 onwards and will cost 749 Euro. |
