i received this recorder today by post imagine my shock and horror when i set it up as per instructions and tried to record something with the (supplied) dvd+rw disc and it kept shutting off with a (fail to write error) message. to make matters worse it became completely erratic when trying to access a particular function on the machine. after much head scratching i decided to use a phillips dvd+rw disc and to try again. it now works perfectly!. the only conclusion i can come to is that the supplied dvd disc from lite on is suspect. i have seen a review somewhere of dvd discs that stated that the darker the layering on them then the chances are they will be more consistant in there recording capabilities. my advice to any one buying this machine is to use high quality dvd rws and other media that it can handle otherwise you will think you have a faulty unit like i did!
